Can restaurants charge more than MRP on bottled soft drinks?

I understand water bottles if private labelled can have its own price but bottled soft drinks as well?

Can anyone confirm?

Yes. Restaurants can charge you more than MRP. MRP is maximum retail price. It applies to retail shops and not to restaurants which falls under the category of providing service.

Yes. Their waiter serves that bottle to you along with a glass while you are sitting in their chair and enjoying the ambience. You are not buying the bottle from a retail shop but receiving service from the restaurant, so they can charge you more.

Thanks man. I never knew this for soft drinks. I was super pissed cause one this restaurant is selling private labelled water 500ml for 30 rupees. And again this.
