March 2, 2025 at 6:23 pmCan restaurants charge more than MRP on bottled soft drinks?I understand water bottles if private labelled can have its own price but bottled soft drinks as well?
Can anyone confirm?

March 2, 2025 at 6:41 pmYes. Restaurants can charge you more than MRP. MRP is maximum retail price. It applies to retail shops and not to restaurants which falls under the category of providing service.-

March 2, 2025 at 7:20 pmYes. Their waiter serves that bottle to you along with a glass while you are sitting in their chair and enjoying the ambience. You are not buying the bottle from a retail shop but receiving service from the restaurant, so they can charge you more.-
