UI had contacted a girl via some known source who would help me in completing a thesis and the price we fixed was 12k, of which she asked me to pay 6k in advance hence I did.
There were some problems with my data so I had explained her how to do it and also spoke with the statistician from her team. He was prompt to reply but the girl stopped replying or answering any calls citing some emergency.
Now, I asked her to give a part of my work involving statistics by February end to which she replied that it’ll be done. Fast forward to February end and march i repeatedly tried to contact her regarding the update as i was nearing the deadline but she refused to pick up calls and reply my messages.
On asking to the statistician,he said that she didn’t provide him the data required so he didn’t proceed with my work which I had already discussed in January.
Now, I lost my patience and asked her to return my money to which this girl says that my data isn’t correct so she can’t work and she’ll pay me only 3k back since she paid half of the amount to the statistician. I fought for the full amount but she was like ‘lena hai toh lo, warna mat lo’. I feel cheated and scammed by her at the end moment.
What can be done? If I file a cyber crime will it be helpful and do I need to do court ke chakkar for that?
TLDR:Thesis writing firm cheated on me for 6k and refusing to return money. What are the legal options to get back the money without hassle of court and police??
