March 25, 2025 at 6:38 amHi everyone I am a software developer at a startup and I am facing some issues while leaving.I am doing 6 months internship here. I have no senior, no mentor nothing all the work is dependent on me. I said them I want to leave(1 month notice period). He is saying I gave to pay back all of the stipend I got. I feel soo frustrated they are making me do all the work and now also asking back for salary, it this even legal(it is written in the document). Can I do anything in this case? Please any suggestions will be appreciated.
PS: If I don’t leave now I will miss up on so many other opportunities also. So this is very important for me.

March 25, 2025 at 6:56 amWhich idiot company is saying this there’s no notice period for internship. Did you sign any offer letter mentioning any notice period. You can literally abuse them and force them to remove you.

March 25, 2025 at 7:36 amYes, it mentions 1 month. I don’t even have a problem with that still they are not letting me leave on time and if I ask them they are asking for a full refund of all of my salary.-

March 25, 2025 at 9:49 amYou can misbehave and force them to terminate you or threaten a legal action most companies don’t need to serve a notice period… At no circumstances you will have to refund your salary report this to the labour commissionIf they ask for refund you can file a FIR too.

March 26, 2025 at 4:47 amDont do anything like that. Just follow the process, email the notice, send it with read receipts, keep copies of both notice and receipt and quit on the day notice ends. There is nothing they can do to take old salary back.

March 25, 2025 at 8:19 amJust return their stuffs laptop, ID etc. and move on. And if you donβt need experience letter – then they have no other bait. Early startups act like fiefdom, so this is expected abs nothing to worry. If they still challenge you somehow, say that your parents wanted to consult family lawyer. Enough to shoo them away
Alternatively, finish 6 months if ur close to completion

March 25, 2025 at 8:53 amProfessional life usually is way too long β¦ so if u just ignore 4 months of whatever internship experience you got till now, and chase new opportunities you will be better off eventually -

March 25, 2025 at 9:00 amIt’s a chop with no funding and no standing in the market. You have two option tell the fake CEO in front of anyone to F off. Or file a complaint with the local labour office. It works, or simply ghost them.Legally safest option is labor office.
