April 30, 2025 at 5:33 amI had resigned from my job after a month.Because of workload and I had to work on weekends even on Sundays and had to extend work hours everyday (14hrs per day).I have previously diagnosed keratoconus and migraine. My migraines increased after joining here .I stated same reason and resigned and asked for early release. They did not agree and asked to find replacement ,I even helped in finding replacement but candidate did not join.I have completed 70days out of 90days notice. Now company is asking me to extend my notice period ,since they have not found replacement and KT is not done.
They had just replied to my resignation mail as :
you need to serve 90days notice period and kt should be completed within this period , they had not specified my last working day.
In appointment letter there is clause stating notice period can be extended according to companies will.
I don’t want to extend my notice what should I do now?
Please help. -

April 30, 2025 at 5:47 amIf you monetize the overtime you have done, does it cover the value of the remaining 20 days?-

April 30, 2025 at 6:13 amAs per the OL if its 90 days how can they ask you for extension, even if they do its up to you. You can state as per the policy I have served my notice and I don’t want to extend it as I am having health issues in a polite way.-

April 30, 2025 at 6:17 amAs per my previous experience the notice period can only be extended if you take any unapproved leaves during it.

April 30, 2025 at 6:29 amSubmit an application to adjust. Let it be rejected. It will be a contributory evidence of the predatory tactics used by your employer, if at all the matter goes to court.-

April 30, 2025 at 7:34 amJust refuse flat out. It’s already a ridiculous amount of 90 days and now they extending is beyond acceptable. -

But that’s illegal. There are labour laws and company doesn’t run on whims of managers/CEOs.Long way : If you are still scared, just contact any small town lawyer who can help you draft an email, finding which clause from offer letter to use. Just write the email, stop working after 90 days (do send a mail on 90th day) and get a notice drafter by the same lawyer and send them. Process shouldn’t cost more than 5000 rupees.
I know one collegue who sent notice to company over gratuity (company had re-registered during his tenure so company was denying gratuity). After the notice, company paid him from their own pockets the amount which he was asking.Shortcut : Stop giving any productive work right away. Kill time and say you didn’t understand the task blah blah. They will let you go withing 2 weeks. If it is a lala company from Noida, they will withhold your remaining salary, so “””**do this only if you are ready to let go of your salary and experience letter”””**.
