Converting Sali (Agricultural) land to Industrial Land in West Bengal

Anybody with experience with converting Sali land to industrial land in West Bengal? What is the process like, how long does it take? We are looking to set up a new factory and have been offered pre-converted Industrial land as well as agricultural land for purchase. Needless to say the converted land is much more expensive. So, is converting agricultural land in West Bengal to industrial a hassle?

Write a request letter to the district development authority and then enquire about the conversion charges. There is a prescribed procedure along with a prescribed fee. Pay the amount and get this done. Or contact a lawyer for this

Any idea about how long does it take? We don’t wish to buy the land and get stuck in the conversion process.
