February 22, 2025 at 5:03 amCustoms extremely damaged a very expensive product I sent over to India for my cousin’s birthday after charging 42% customs over it, so this time I want to file a legal notice against them. However, before that, is there anyway I can claim compensation from them legally? Also, if there are any other Indian subreddits which can help me this issue, please help me redirect to them as I do not live in India anymore. -

February 22, 2025 at 6:00 amThat does not rule out the various logistics partners who handled your shipment along the way at the behest of the shipping company you used.Your best bet would be to claim insurance. This is exactly the reason they exist.

February 22, 2025 at 5:21 amYou would have to file a case, notices rarely suffice.
Did you have insurance on shipping?
Also, are you sure it wasn’t damaged during shipping?-

February 22, 2025 at 5:30 amYes I’m sure it wasn’t damaged during shipping. How do I file a case in customs then? I can’t seem to find Indian customs’ grievance cell or anything like that unfortunately-

February 22, 2025 at 5:40 amI would recommend to consult a lawyer here, where the product was shipped.

February 22, 2025 at 10:09 amWhat was it that got damaged? Maybe knowing the product might help to determine if customs may have opened it up to take a look. -

February 22, 2025 at 8:44 pmHow about keeping a go pro camera while we send the parcel next time. It can track when exactly the damage was done
