Mi have my passport renewal date in few days and my earlier passport was issued when i was a minor, i applied for tatkal re issuance as i needed it urgently for admissions so now the problem i think is that my signatures are not the same as earlier, it is different on my pan card and my passport which expired more than 3 years ago so as i wanted it in tatkal i didnt choose the change in particulars option as tatkal was not applicable in that case
so now should i sign the passport there with the new sign or the old one(when i was a minor) so that there is no rejection of my passport application -

HSame happened with me. Just use new signature. There is a form you need to fill and submit. Details are on the passport website. It simply triggers a police verification again (even if address is same)

HNo, mine was regular. But I see your point – Change in Signature case is ineligible for Tatkal. In this case, just re-do the same sign as old passport in your new application to get your Tatkal. Hope they don’t check for signature matches (they generally don’t!). You can do the signature change later when you have opportunity to do a non-Tatkal renewal.

Myes that is what i was trying to ask
so should i just re do the old sign as on my old passport and the sign on my pancard is done by permanent marker so that can be done too..so for now should i do the sign on pancard as the old passport sign and get this passport renewed ?

UYou can ask them that you want to change the signature. They will allow you to do so without any extra formalities or charges. I also got my signature changed at the time of renewal.

UYes yes. I don’t think so there will be any problem. Just ask the officer. When they click your photo, they generally ask you that please recheck all the info and in case you want to change anything let us know. So I just mentioned that my signature has changed. He told me to sign with the new signature on the renewal form. And then it was done.

Mokay so should i tell the officer on the first counter itself or on the counter where they ask us to sign on the form?

Nthere will be an officer who will check your documents once you enter tell that person. that person will guide you.
