I was lurking around on Google maps around the north eastern part of India.

I noticed something strange. I play a game which involves the use of Google Map data as a base in which I noticed that Arunachal Pradesh and J & K are not shown as a part of India. Since the game uses map data from Google’s US server probably, in the game the map is visible without those 2 states shown as a part of India. I analysed the issue more.
I first checked map of Arunachal Pradesh and J & K, on normal network ( without vpn ), the 2 states were shown as a part of India, as per official map of India ( available on [https://surveyofindia.gov.in/pages/political-map-of-india](https://surveyofindia.gov.in/pages/political-map-of-india) ) . Then I checked on UK vpn, it was the same.
Then I switched to US VPN, and voila, Arunachal Pradesh and J & K aren’t shown as part of India on US VPN.

So what would be way this could be approached legally ?

          NAL.

As a rule of thumb, most international maps are based on de facto control. In such cases, the parts of J&K that are in our control, along with Arunachal Pradesh are shown as part of India, while PoK and Aksai Chin are shown as part of Pakistan and China responsible.

In my opinion, there is no point in making a huge deal out of it. It’s pretty common.
