Disparity of Cult Interfaith marriage – Legality

So, me (Hindu) and my girlfriend(Christian) are planning to get married at the church using the disparity of cult option. My only concern is whether i should still follow the procedure for special marriage act where we need to get married at the registrar office. Or will the church wedding be sufficient for legal reasons such as visa etc. Any inputs on this would be greatly appreciated as it’s pretty confusing when searching online.
