April 29, 2025 at 7:32 pmSo, I had file a complaint regarding a financial fraud where I was not getting my refund money. But, once I filed the complain in Cyber Cell Portal, they freeze the suspect Bank Account in 2 days. Now, they have returned my money and I have withdrawn the Case. So, my question is will the cyber cell itself unfreeze their bank account without doing anything? And, if so, how many days does it generally take to unfreeze tha account?P.S. : They are calling & texting me so much to ask when they will get their bank account unblock. They are threatening me of reverse some fake cases or something if didn’t get their bank account unfreezes soon.
Plz help me with this confusion. What to do now?

April 29, 2025 at 7:53 pm* **It won’t unfreeze “automatically”** once you withdraw online—you need a written No-Objection/closure letter from the Cyber Cell.
* **Contact the investigating officer** at the Cyber Cell. Ask them to formally close your case and issue an NOC stating “account freeze lifted.” Once they sign it, the bank will unfreeze within 2–3 business days.
* **Get it in writing**: email or WhatsApp the IO to confirm the freeze-lift order. Banks only act on written instructions from police.
* **Document threats**: save their calls/texts. If they threaten “fake cases,” file a simple police complaint under IPC §503/§506 (criminal intimidation). This puts you back in control.-

April 29, 2025 at 8:17 pmBut, I had filed the complaint online & now, in the Cyber Cell website, it’s showing that the case has been withdrawn after withdrawal. Still, they need to visit the Cyber Cell Office..?-

April 29, 2025 at 8:35 pmYes, even if the case status on the Cyber Cell portal shows “Withdrawn”, the bank account will not be unfrozen automatically just based on that. The Cyber Cell must send an official communication (like a letter or email) directly to the bank stating that the freeze can be lifted.
Online status updates (like “withdrawn”) are for your reference—they don’t serve as legal instructions to banks.
So yes, the accused still needs to visit the Cyber Cell office, or you can do so voluntarily to:
Confirm the case is fully closed
Request the Cyber Cell officer to send an “unfreeze instruction” to the bank-

April 30, 2025 at 5:49 pmWithdrawal alone doesn’t stop the investigation or unfreeze the account. You must get a formal NOC from the cyber cell IO; only that order lifts the freeze.
