May 6, 2026 at 12:14 pmOn 18th April, I went to a laser hair removal studio for an arms and legs session after previously having one successful session at another clinic about 1.5 months ago with no adverse reaction. Before booking, I informed this studio that I have eczema/sensitive skin. However, there was no real medical consultation or detailed skin assessment.
On the appointment day:
they confirmed my appointment on call,
then said there was no appointment in their system after I arrived,
took payment before treatment,
refused to provide written package details/invoice except the payment receipt,
and made me wait around 2 to 2.5 hours overall.
There also did not seem to be a doctor present during the treatment.
The staff repeatedly left during the session to attend other clients. They also pushed their own creams/products for βbetter results,β but would not clearly tell me the ingredients or arrange for a doctor to explain whether they were safe for eczema-prone skin.
Even 6 days after the session and the irritation/itching kept getting worse instead of better. I also saw already seeing visible hair growth. I have photos documenting the irritation and regrowth.
I understand laser results can vary, so Iβm not trying to jump to conclusions medically. My bigger concern is the overall lack of documentation, consultation, supervision, and professionalism.
I have:
payment proof,
photos,
and messages/call records.
Would this realistically qualify as deficiency in service under consumer law in India? Is it possible to seek:
cancellation/refund for the remaining package,
partial refund for the session,
or compensation for poor service?
Also, does the fact that they never provided a proper invoice or written treatment details help or hurt my position?

May 6, 2026 at 1:22 pmYou can go to consumer court. But it is a long battle. I remember that recently a lady got a large settlement from ITC hotel for a bad haircut.-

May 6, 2026 at 5:12 pmthis sounds less like just dissatisfaction with results and more about how casually the whole process seems to have been handled despite you clearly mentioning sensitive skin beforehand the part that usually matters in situations like this is the overall pattern of poor process no proper consultation unclear documentation no supervision and then worsening irritation afterward because together those things tell a stronger story than just hair regrowth alone also the lack of written treatment details could become important later rather than hurting your side have they responded at all after you informed them about the irritation and concerns or are they avoiding engaging with it directly so far-

May 6, 2026 at 11:36 pmhonestly speaking, I haven’t contacted them yet because I felt that they’d say it’s because I didn’t buy their products. My plan was to get some advice before directly asking for a refund for the remaining sessions with some validation that it’s a valid claim. On their site they mention that they don’t give refunds but I’ve heard that it’s not valid even if such claims are stated?
