Elder son has possession of fathers self earned property

My father has purchased property during his job and after retirement he has given all saving to elder son so that he can open business and take care of him at his old age however son has not taken care of him and abused him. Didn’t give any food or water during stay so father had to leave his property and taken shelter at village. Later i have started earning and have taken care of father. I stay outside native place due to job and now my father wants take his property back. He went to SDM but he has suggested to fill civil case. My father has now filled civil case of eviction and possession but defendant is claiming adverse possession. Pls guide on strategy and right act/law to win. At this stage i fear my father cannot fight a civil case. Elder brother is very hostile and dangerous. Ready to kill if we shows up. Not even police is helping.
