March 5, 2025 at 9:01 amlong story short โ I have an employment overlap of around 20 days. Back in 2023 was working night shifts at an MNC, totally burned out, and bagged a better opportunity that aligned with my plans to study and eventually settle abroad.Tried to request an early release citing medical reasons, but my manager played the delay game. I stopped logging in and just waited out my last day without any activity. Got my service letter and FNF without much fuss โ the overlap was there on paper, but my current company didn’t care so I let it slide.
Fast forward โ scrapped the abroad plans due to financial reasons and now trying to switch again. Bagged an offer, but it’s on the verge of being revoked because the firm doesn’t tolerate overlapping employment. Seems like every company these days wants completeley clean employment histories. And hr was insisting that labour law suggests only one employment per person in India.
Someone suggested reaching out to the old MNC for a settlement request or some sort of letter, but honestly, I doubt they’d even entertain it. I’m trying to avoid any legal mess โ just want to move on clean.
Has anyone ever been in a similar situation and successfully fixed it? How long does this kind of situation drags on? Would appreciate any advice or even just reassurance that I’m not totally screwed.
