March 24, 2025 at 7:28 amMy brother’s wife has filled a fake Dowry and DV case against my brother and my parents. In the application for notifying the plea she included my name too. As i don’t live with my family she made the allegation that I used to torture her over video calls. But after statements were taken from my father and brother, she and her family refused counseling and procedded with FIR, while filing the FIR she and her family didn’t include my name in it. Since the FIR has been filled, she is getting it printed in various newspapers almost daily with name of my parents and brother that a dowry and dv case has been filled and elaborating all the allegations that she was beaten and a whole long set of lies.
We have availed services of a good lawyer.
Still I want to get views of people who have gone through all this and how should we proceed. And is there any solution to this newspaper thing? -

March 24, 2025 at 7:33 amHello, is this being printed in the newspapers through the court? Because that usually happens when the other party does not appear in court. Has your family been attending? If not, they need to attend or represent themselves, else it does not look good for them.
Also, if it is possible, you need to give more info here to get genuine help I think. I’m NAL though.-

March 24, 2025 at 8:00 amNo the case has not yet started in court. The FIR was filled few days back. She by herself is getting all this printed in the newspapers almost daily for past few days.-

March 24, 2025 at 7:57 amNo wife had no affair.
And there was no physical violence at all.
We ourselves were in shock when these things unfolded. -

March 24, 2025 at 8:10 amWith time she had an issue with everything in our family anything which was not according to her she would get angry and say that she wants to live separate from family and then leave for her parents home…..she would stay there for 4 to 10 days then come back behaving all normal and the cycle repeated almost every month and half. She also wanted that whole income of my brother shall come to her.
And she had no restrictions on spending, she even bought stuff for herself and then passed it on to her family members through my brother’s credit card.
Now I got recently married myself so she already had issues with my incoming wife even before our marriage regarding financial control of the family.
We always tried to talk to her make her understand our points and try to understand hers. But suddenly out of blue one day all this unfolded. She took all her stuff from our home too and created a big scene in the colony as well.

March 24, 2025 at 8:02 amYour brother and parents can file counter cases on her. What she’s doing is to defame the family. Also, your mother can also file domestic violence case on her (it is an extreme case of cruelty against husband).Since your name is not in the FIR, you don’t have to do anything. But others need to take bail. [https://divorcebylaw.com/cruelty-against-husband/](https://divorcebylaw.com/cruelty-against-husband/)
