May 4, 2026 at 9:19 amSo I ordered 2 spinner toys for a baby from FirstCry. The app showed MRP ₹1,599 per item with a big “80% OFF” deal. It looked like a great offer, so I bought both. When the products arrived, I checked the actual box. The MRP printed by the manufacturer (Innovitoy Pvt. Ltd.) was ₹399 and ₹371
But FirstCry showed ₹1,599 for each item.
So basically, the MRP was inflated around 4x to create a fake “discount.” There was never any real 80% off.
Here’s the math:
Fake discount they claimed: ₹2,590
Real discount (based on actual MRP): ₹162
Discount Difference: ₹2,428
I paid ₹607 after discount shown as
3,198 – 2,590 = 607
The worst part is that the Central Consumer Protection Authority already fined FirstCry ₹2,00,000 earlier for this exact same practice. Yet it seems to still be happening.
I’ve raised a formal complaint and marked the National Consumer Helpline in CC. Let’s see how they respond.
Just a heads up: always check the actual MRP on the product box after delivery and take screenshots before ordering.
Has anyone else experienced this with FirstCry?
