My 21-year-old friend is facing physical and emotional abuse by her father. He beats and tortures her regularly. She is scared and financially dependent on him, so leaving immediately is difficult.

What are her legal options?
• Can she file an FIR or NC against him?
• Can she get protection under the Domestic Violence Act?
• Are there government shelters she can approach?
