February 15, 2025 at 11:42 amHey guys, my girlfriend’s parents are opposing our relationship and are threatening to go to the cops and file a complaint against my family as they suspect I’m out to get them, which is total bs as I have no ill intentions and am just trying to marry the love of my life. We did our best to try and convince her parents respectfully of course and have tried to be patient and understanding but unfortunately things have escalated now and we’re looking for lawyers to talk who can help us out of this mess. I live abroad and I need to make sure that her mum filing a complaint against me or my family won’t affect my visa status. For context, I’m 28 and she’s 27 and are of legal age to be married. I’m looking for lawyer recommendations in Bangalore that can help us sort this mess out. -

February 15, 2025 at 11:47 amOn what basis would they file a complaint against you?
You didn’t do anything wrong, so they couldn’t file a complaint against you.Best to not do anything about it and ignore them.
If you entertain them, it’ll only work against you, so best to completely ignore them.

February 15, 2025 at 11:51 amYeah I don’t know what basis they’ll file a complaint. But I’m worried about my girlfriend’s safety, and she needs to move out of the house and I don’t know whether her mum will take drastic measures to prevent that from happening.-

February 15, 2025 at 12:29 pmSorry but you are ignorant of ground realities.Parents often file cases on their daughter’s boyfriend (kidnapping, ra*e, blackmail, harassment, etc) and police do register FIR.
Now in a sane world FIR should get quashed easily, but sadly this is India.
You will need luck because if your investigation officer is corrupt or lazy, you are going to spend a considerable amount of time and money to get relief.

February 15, 2025 at 12:40 pmOther person can also provide the information and file an FIR on behalf of the aggrieved person, but during the investigation the girl could easily tell that the guy’s innocent, and the FIR would be void.Since, if the girl says against her parents that nothing like that happened, then they’ll have to believe nothing happened and there’s no case then.

February 15, 2025 at 8:28 pmSeen a lot of cases where the girl folds and fucks over the guy. In situations like these as an average man in India it’s not worth it.

February 15, 2025 at 12:43 pmYou’re diverting the issue. When a girl is missing, it’s an entirely different situation. Even in those cases, if she willingly wants to be with the boy, her parents cannot take legal action against either of them.In this case, the girl is present, and only she can file a complaint related to the relationship—either on her own or with the help of her parents. However, her parents cannot file a complaint against the boy without her consent. She would need to record her statement in front of the police and court, and a medical examination would also be required.
So, if the girl is with the OP, there’s no reason to worry about legal action.

February 15, 2025 at 11:51 amFrom what I know, Police don’t usually just register a complaint against any baseless case, so it’s possible they won’t even register it. I don’t know any lawyers in Bangalore, but I hope you get some good legal help. I’ll upvote this so that it reaches the right person.-

February 15, 2025 at 12:43 pmCurious to know what is your girlfriend’s take on all this?? Please take this advice seriously and keep documented evidence of consensual relationship (even if it wasn’t sexual). Most of them have told why police wouldn’t take baseless cases but I wouldn’t put it beyond the capabilities of certain parents’ to concoct stories of unimaginable consequences. All that said – please give it a fair thought do you really want to go ahead with this marriage given all the threats her parents are making? She maybe a good person but this is a lifelong issue you’ll have to endure with her parents… and resentment does build up and it’s all not worth it.-

February 15, 2025 at 4:58 pmMy 2 cents, i thought the same about my girlfriend and she’s happily married and has a kid with another guy.If at 28, you need to ask this question here, probably your girlfriend isn’t gonna stand by you when it matters eventually.

February 16, 2025 at 2:53 amTrust her. But don’t trust her with all you got. The only thing you can fully trust is Maaya and its ability to play you.Her parents seem like the kind of people who would go to sick lengths to keep you two apart. They already don’t care about her happiness. Your girlfriend will see this and eventually realise all worldly relations have always been fake. She would realise she doesn’t want to fight against the natural fabric of human behaviour anyway. She will accept reality and stop fighting back when she sees she can just marry someone else and live through life. Don’t blame your girlfriend really. 99% of women cannot deal with the daily psychological torture. They just want it to end.

February 15, 2025 at 11:54 am>I’m 28 and she’s 27I thought this was some teenage couple 💀💀.
Still, keep all chats with girlfriend as proof you didn’t try to extort money out of any of them nor did you gave a rape threat(they can put this case🤷🏻) .
For the case of a lawyer which I don’t think will be needed, ask a friend who lives in Bangalore and get a trusted lawyer whom you know mutually.

February 15, 2025 at 5:00 pmYou have only 2 comments so far and they both suggest using this AI thing. Your account is 2021 but you have no comments or posts other than these 2.You are a bot or a zombie account.
I checked your profile because you mentioned this AI was able to help where lawyers weren’t. That sounded fishy. And now you have shown your hand.

February 15, 2025 at 5:30 pmBro, get a lawyer. At this point, you can trust no one, not even your partner. Get a lawyer, and do as he says. And yes, don’t tell anyone about this legal help you’re gonna get. Sometimes keeping shit secretive helps a lot. -
