May 1, 2025 at 7:40 pmSame as the title , 21 M here. I have a toxic and abusive family.. dad is an alcoholic and cusses out the nastiest words ever. Like mrng itself u wake up by hearing his fcked up words.. I’m pretty sure , if I stay there I’ll go insane. My mental health is alr messed up.. I rlly wanna move out , I hv a best frnd and he’s got a job in nxt state. I’m planning to move in w him and work a job and pursue My dreams as a boxer and entrepreneur. but my dad also got some connections and he want things to go his way regardless how toxic he is.. he wanna dominate and he wants everyone to listen to him eventho he’s wrong.. he’s also extremely demotivating ! Constantly saying I won’t reach anywhere ! Cause I won’t just sit and listen to whatever cuss words he says… so my question is.. can I just leave home like that ? Are there any legal actions he can take to bring me back home ? I’m abt to be 22 soon ! Ik this is a cliche question , but do tell me if u know… cause I can’t just sit here and listen to all this !! The worst that can happen is losing My shi- and end up doing smthn which I’ll regret throughout my lyf.. so do tell me -

May 1, 2025 at 7:59 pmI’m sorry to hear about your situation. At 21, you’re legally an adult, and you have the right to live independently. Hereβs a plan:1. **Collect Documents**: Gather your identification documents like Aadhaar card, PAN card, educational certificates, and any savings accounts information you have. This ensures youβre ready for your move.
2. **Secure Employment**: Arrange a job or source of income in your friendβs city to support yourself financially.
3. **Organize Accommodation**: Confirm and set up accommodation with your friend or another place that suits your budget and needs.
4. **Inform Authorities**: If you face threats, approach the local police station and provide information about your move for your safety. Having a General Diary (GD) entry could be useful.
5. **Legal Consultation**: Consult a legal expert for specific advice related to your circumstances. They can affirm your legal rights and guide you if your father tries to force you back.
Under Indian law, your autonomy at 21 allows you the freedom to choose your path. Stay focused and take care of your mental health.
