March 29, 2025 at 6:40 amSo, last night was a complete mess. My younger brother was driving after having a few drinks, and we got pulled over by the police. Things escalated way beyond what I expected. The cops called a female constable and literally forced me into their van. I lost my temper when I saw the way they were treating my brother, especially after he showed me the marks from them beating him. In the heat of the moment, I started cursing them out. That obviously made things worse. They started recording me after I called them “motherfuckers” and took everything out on my brother. My dad had to pay a hefty bribe—₹1 lakh—to get him out. Now I’m just sitting here, feeling like I was completely out of line. The whole thing could have been handled differently, and I regret reacting the way I did.
I know drinking and driving is wrong. I know fighting with cops only makes things worse. But in that moment, seeing my brother get hurt just messed with me. Now, I feel like all my progress in becoming a better, more composed person is gone. I don’t know how to move past this.
Can they use those videos after everything is settled? and, for drink and drive how can cops raise their hand? when they took him for medical they kicked him and beat him. i feel so helpless

March 29, 2025 at 6:49 amAll you had to do was stay calm and pay 20K fine in court. This is their usual tactic to get people riled up so they can ask for bigger bribe. Looks like it worked on you guys.Anyway if they took the bribe, nothing is going to happen now.

March 29, 2025 at 6:52 amExactly police shouldn’t have beaten.
You guys shouldn’t drink and drink and
Misbehaving after drinking dribking is absolutely no no especially when you know police now has so much power after the new laws were passed, now civilians cannot misbehave or face severe consequences as they can file any chargesheet , make arrests and than if you don’t know let me tell you 77% jails have people who are undertrials ans not convicted. So even if you are innocent you eill still be in jail for 5-7 years in criminal matters just waiting for your verdict to get out.
The only exception where police steps down are politicians, higher rank ips /ias and advocates.-

March 29, 2025 at 7:04 amNAL better for you and your brother to have several broken bones than have innocents die due to accidents. Good on the cops. -

March 29, 2025 at 7:07 amBribe of 1 lac? Woh bhi maar khaane k bad? This doesn’t add up honestly. And why did cop beat your brother? Did he also abuse them? Because don’t think cops would just start hitting and kicking someone unless there’s a provocation from the drunken man.Looks like you and your brother both were heavily drunk and both of you went well over something where the cops could restrain.

March 29, 2025 at 7:15 amSomeone should send this girl a video of Dehradun accident. Your dad could have had a similar experience or you guys could have killed some innocent. You are lucky to be alive. Be thankful and move on. Book a DriveU or a cab next time. It’s not worth risking your or someone’s lives over few drinks and couple of hundred rupees.
