First of all, I regret my actions and I am here to know what will be legal procedure for such a case.
City: Bangalore (Bellandur Traffic Police)
Background:
I had a beer can at my friend’s place and was driving after a couple of hours to my house 3kms away. I was driving slowly even though I was not feeling drunk at all.Traffic police stopped me at around 1AM and took a breathalyser test and it beeped. He said I am drunk and took my keys.
One of the traffic policer took me further away on his scooty to an ATM and said what do you want to now, the fine for such cases is 30K. I tried to tell him that this is a first time offence and I just had one drink and my house is nearby but he wouldn’t budge. I even had my flatmate talk to him on call but he then took me back to the traffic stop and they said we will seize the vehicle and give a challan where you will have to come and get the vehicle tomorrow morning at 10.
Now, I have a challan with my DL number and Vehicle number (it’s a borrowed Scooty). I would like some advice on how to handle this situation at the traffic police station in the morning to avoid it getting worse.
Please help me with this. Again, I regret driving after drinking a beer and would never do this again. I rarely drink and this was the only time I drove after drinking.

SI assume that the numbers you’re talking about are mg/dl. The limit is 30 not 40.
If you are a first time offender and only marginally over the line, you may be only subject to fine and counselling. If you are called to court and asked to plead , just agree with the charges, your punishment may be lower.
