March 10, 2025 at 7:16 amI met a guy during my trip and we became good friends.
He is into travel bookings (flight and stay). He used my credit card for the bookings because of the card offers. He would almost immediately transfer the booking amount to me. So I let him use my card.Lately, he used my card for huge transactions. But he has paid only 10% of it. He keeps promising that he will repay the rest of the amount, but he has not. Now I’m in trouble!!
I have the transaction details (only agents can do a transaction on the portal. So, i can prove that he has used my money for his bookings), whatsapp messages mentioning he will repay the amount…
Please let me know what can I do here. I really need help 🙏🏻

March 10, 2025 at 7:53 amWhy on earth would you lend your credit card to someone you met and became instant friends? Just get the no money slowly by mentioning you are in financial trouble. Once you get your money, thank the universe and block him and his number permanently.-

March 10, 2025 at 8:14 amI trusted him because, initially, he returned my money instantly.
I made a mistake by over trusting him.-

March 10, 2025 at 1:45 pmNo, not for reward points. I make enough transactions in my card to get fancy reward points that I need.
I really did it to help out and it’s been the worst decision

March 10, 2025 at 7:55 amI had a friend and i had some money.
I lent my friend all my money.
Now i dont have a friend and i dont have any money..
A tale my dad used to tell us, to be careful with our hard earned money.
Friends come easy, buy him a drink and hes a friend, over in minutes.
And money? It comes in bits and pieces, paid by the hour.-

March 10, 2025 at 1:17 pmCC Chargebacks and dispute transactions?-
UUser_57fa6b66
OP
March 10, 2025 at 1:48 pmChargebacks will work only for fraudulent transactions, right?
He made genuine transactions from my card on a trusted portal.
Do you still think I can approach the back and they can help?-

March 10, 2025 at 1:50 pmI think the thing is you who is authorised to use the card didn’t make the transaction. So on that grounds I believe you can still raise a dispute… But if you are certain that your “friend” won’t return the money on his first promised date (make sure it’s not more than 55 days from the date of transaction of the said 9L rupees as most banks have only 60 days to report a transaction or raise dispute.-

March 10, 2025 at 2:25 pmYou can file a case against him for recovery. Start by sending a legal notice, this will secure the limitation issue of your legal right. And since you have the messages to prove that he owed you the money, you can file a case. You appear to have a strong case prima facie.
Lmk if you have any other query. -

March 13, 2025 at 1:44 amHow well do you know this person ? And how long are you friends?
Do you know where he lives ? Do you have common friends ? Do you know his family?Keep all the information regarding the money lent and chat etc as evidences.
Stay friendly and in close contact… do not get confrontational /adversarial…Seed stories of your money troubles every now and then and keep requesting to get it back….
ps: i am also looking for friends (:P :P)
