USo I was learning a skill and decided to sell it on fiverr. So I created my account and shared my gig. Two people approached me (whose accounts were then deleted/they blocked me? I dont know). One of them was deleted before the payment and one completed the payment. Then I got an email, so I clicked and it said accept funds. So I entered my dad’s credit card info and it even asked me exact amount(I trusted it as it was fiverr main website) Then the customer support chat started , he asked me for multiple otps (I trusted again as it was main website). Now the credit card is empty, I dont know what to do. It is my dad’s money, please help. This feels like the end for me, I dont know how I am going to show my face to anyone from now on. help help

Also, what happened with you is a spoofing scam. They made a website similar to target site.

BIts a very very very old scam.
Any person reading your post will say you are an idiot, why you gave money/credit card details when you are the one supposed to be getting money (for giving service)
But ik when a person is not fully alert 100% of time, sadly when it comes to receiving money.
Next time be alert always (still scams can happen). Also, dont worry about the money. Do as others said. Report it. But tell your dad that you will return the money one day when you start earning. And now focus on studies, not on this chillar work.

One day this 33k will also be your 10 day/5 day salary. Tab lauta dena. Theek hai.

UI had a similar incident with UPI a few years back where i transferred some amount to wrong UPI number. But i was able to raise a ticket immediately regarding the wrong transfer and chargeback and bank took over from there.
Follow these steps:
1. Contact customer support of the credit card and explain to them this issue
2. Go to the bank branch from where CC was issued and there should be a person who deals with general account related issues (sorry i don’t remember the exact post) tell them and ask for chargeback and temporary blocking the card (as you provided the credentials)
3. Now wait for 5-7 working days and they will provide you with an update

BThis happened with my colleague’s son, he was thrashed black and blue 💙, the scammers made a fake, or identical website, my colleague was lucky it was only 4k, the NGO i worked at contried for it.

CHey OP, credit card settlement takes time. So just call your bank and request a chargeback. Do it ASAP.

SIf you gave OTP’s.. I don’t think credit card customer support will help u. I’ve read somewhere that… authentication with OTP is proof of purchase for merchants so we can’t claim later that we lost the card or something like this..☹️☹️

UAt what stage are you?
1. Give a ring on 1930. It’s for cyber crime. Maybe they’ll ask you to file a complaint online. Do as they say.
2. Contact Credit Card Customer care. Tell them the whole story and tell them that you want to dispute this transaction.Don’t give up. For everything you have to fight. Any help needed, contact me.

UWhat did the Credit Card Customer Service had to say. Have they taken down your dispute request? Now referring to your conversation with them, mail them all the details and if you’ve been given any acknowledgment by cyber cell, attach that as an attachment. Make sure you have made your case strong.

UI dont know, my dad told me he will handle it, he made the call as well. I am too humiliated and scared to talk with him right now. They told him that they will let us know in 7 days , same with the 1930 number. Also the person on 1930 told us to go to police and bank.

UDon’t be scared, this is a mistake which even adults make, a very valuable lesson you’ve learnt. Never, never ever share OTP with anyone. The word OTP should ring bells in your ears. These days you have to be very very careful. So be with your dad, treat him as your friend, open up, say sorry that things happened so fast that it was beyond you. Your dad seems to be very mature, I’m sure he’ll handle it. Remember even in failure there’s always a lesson. All the best.
