I (28 F) moved to the UK in 2021 to runaway from my abusive parents. I had to come back to India to sort some documents and apply for marriage visa, move to the UK and never come back. in that process I had to my change my aadhar contact number so I could change my address (as these were with my parents). I need it to renew my passport my next year. However, somehow they found my number and tried to contact me. I have diabled location service, took the sim out and switched off my phone but I am worried they would be to track me down and find where I live. My parents are from Hyderabad and I am currently in Bangalore staying with a friend till I sort it out and leave the country for good. I am scared before I am able to leave they will find me and take me back. My parents are abusive, will force me to marry an abusive guy like my dad who is as narcisstic as anyone can get, take away my devices and freedom to even step out of the house or meet anyone. My parents are also very rich and influential so I am worried they might pay their way through their connections and the system. Please advice me on how I can stay safe and away from them without getting my friends into trouble just for 1.5 month. I am really scared and terrifed of the outcome if they find me.

If your parents are as influential as you claim, then no legal entity is safe. They can pay their way to you.

I strongly suggest you try and stay under the radar. Don’t buy anything in your name or your card. Ask your friends for help and keep changing your stay frequently. Just finish what you’re here for and flee this godforsaken place. Wish you luck and strength!

Good time to apply for asylum in the UK.
They take these things very seriously. Would also let you do all documentation in the UK itself with Indian embassies help.

What tasks do you have pending in India? Do you really need to be in India for all these days? Go vacation in Sri Lanka / Thailand / Langkawai with last minute ticket purchases. (Buy tickets right at airport, no lead time for anyone to do anything).

Also, your passport can be renewed aboard with you a resident visa of that country. Donโ€™t need to be in India for that.

Be a digitally disconnected hermit. No phone, no data / Internet, No credit cards. No digital footprint.

Check emails through VPNs only if absolute must. Use cash for all payments. Donโ€™t be at most obvious friendโ€™s place. Most criminals get tracked by watching their favourite person (Spouse/gf/sibling etc) that they would definitely talk to from time to time.

And keep a lawyer on standby for H Corpus plea in High Court / Supreme Court.

Try staying under radar , also try changing your look for the time youโ€™re in India (get short hair ,dress differently than what you usually wear) as they can circulate your photo to find you .Also get off social media and tell your friends to not post stories or anything with location for the time being .
All the best to your future OP , also how do you manage money ? Where do you work?

Stay in some 5star hotel! They wonโ€™t allow anyone inside and security will be airtight
