RBasically had all papers and work passed upon, got to know that there’s a perimeter constrain from ASI monuments for 100+200 mts holding you back on constructions on your own land.
Come to a place where in Police suggesting ‘ADJUSTMENTS’ as you know, or whole closure of construction on own plopertly just cuz we fall within 250+ mts of as ASI property! Which we already have stopped.. after notice.
No offences, wanna stay full on legal, what can I do? -
I**Issue**
You started construction on your own land, but it’s within 250+ meters of a protected ASI monument. An FIR was lodged by ASI because construction near monuments requires special permission under law—even if other authorities approved your plans.
**Law Involved**
Under the Ancient Monuments Act:
0–100 m: No construction allowed (Prohibited Zone).
100–300 m: Construction allowed only with NMA permission (Regulated Zone).
**What You Can Do**
1. Stop construction immediately (which you’ve already done—good).
2. Apply for permission from NMA via http://nma.gov.in.
3. Respond legally to the FIR, showing:
You weren’t aware of ASI limits
You have valid municipal approvals
You’ve now stopped work and are complying with the law
4. Avoid any illegal “adjustments”—you’re right to stay legal.
5. Consider hiring a local advocate to help with ASI/NMA and the police.
