What kind of justice is this? It’s cash grab

January 11, 2025 at 8:49 amLook carefully, the judges live in the prime land areas of each city. They somehow end up as owners of the schools via trusts, hospitals, colleges. How are you all ok with this?
It’s not women who have gamed 498a, it’s the judges who have gamed the system to get hold on your stock, land, flats, cash.

January 11, 2025 at 9:16 amYes nepotism is rampant in the judiciary. Recently SC has started a trial run of a new system where they will individually interview candidates which was not done before, and someone who’s parents or relatives are judges won’t be made judges. If the new system works then it will help with the nepotism issue. But that’s not just the only problem. How do you stop bribery? I believe bribery by politicians and rich people is a major source of their income.
Now coming to that 498a. It started happening 2014 onwards when SC relaxed the conditions in which the wife could file that case, made it easier for them to do so.
Lastly, if the lower court judges did their work properly the situation would greatly improve. Even cases where it is common sense to know what is happening, the judges will make some absurd, illogical judgement and the victim of judiciary will have to move higher up to appeal

January 11, 2025 at 9:16 amWell, it has become a fashion to insult the institution. We need to introspect. There may be a very minor percentage of judges who are black sheep and indulges into unethical gain. But everyday, justice is delivered. I am a lawyer myself and having 14 years of experience to back myself and to say that, majority are still ethical. And yes, I being a first generation lawyer, I agree with you that kith and kin of judges should not be elevated to the bench. And lately, even two senior most judges in SC are also holding the same opinion and have written to the chief to recommend the name of lawyers for elevation to the bench who are 1st generation lawyers.
So hopefully, fingers crossed, things will change and are changing. Our infrastructure in court has gone up many miles in the tenure of last CJ.

January 11, 2025 at 9:35 amIt is a fashion to be a centrist and morally righteous without being in touch with reality like you, listen to the opinions of old retired judges from major cities, they all say how judiciary has become so corrupt that few years back people used to say these few are corrupt but now people only these few are honest.Get real and stop being an idealist.

January 11, 2025 at 9:54 amIt has became fashion to insult the institution because institution is not accountable to anyone and lacks any transparency in terms of selection of its members. You can make countless excuse for those incompetent fool and you can also blame the public who dare to question your lords but the fact of the matter is there is no law or procedure in India which holds these fools accountable.
If people are not getting justice, if property/murder/ divorce cases are going on for 20-25 years regardless of whether husband or wife is at fault, then its the Judges that lacks critical thinking skills who are to blame not the public who questions them.

January 11, 2025 at 9:33 amNepotism and casteism are the basis for choosing judges of HC and SC. Till date I doubt there is any SC judge who is not from an upper caste. The irony of life is that we have been told and brainwashed by law is fair to everyone, no body is above law but even HC judges get reprimanded by SC judges. The SC judges scumbags are the real mfs in this country who dictate how 1.4 billion people should behave, they really think they are gods in human form. This is India, the land of Mahabharat as mentioned in the beginning there is nothing out in the world that is not here.

January 11, 2025 at 9:52 amWell, I was not attempting to defend my fraternity, but now I will dispel the doubt you have.
1- on the issue of midnight court hearings: there are several issue of national interest and thus, upon a request from the lawyers the Chief Justice orders of such hearing. The issues of common man, are issues between two individuals and they will keep agitating. Because one party is never satisfied and they have been litigating in 3-4 courts of appeal, so if there is one more jurisdiction beyond the SC they will flood that as well with litigation.
2- issue of summer vacations: if you have a lawyer or a judge in your family then please spend a day with him, the fraternity works 24/7. Where as, the โgovt officesโ you meant do not carry their work home and enjoy so many leaves in different form. If judges wonโt take break they will go mad hearing issues. Imagine you canโt handle one issue of your life and you get agitated dealing with it everyday. Whereas, a judge has to hear 100 such issues every day and they deliver justice. Else, we will be questioned by a key board warrior like you.-

His father was a high court, just before Arun Mishra was retiring as Supreme Court judge he appointed his brother as high court judge, whereas his brother was not eligible as he had crossed the minimum age threshold.Justice Arun Mishra is possibly one of the most corrupt judges in the history of the Supreme Court of India.
