February 4, 2025 at 5:49 amSo, surrounded by people who get on my nerves day in and night. I don’t generally react but if I’m forced to be in a situation where I’m scared for my safety, other than recording a video of them to ward them off, what else can I do? And, if I end up hitting someone out of self defence out of fear of physical & mental harm, what’s the worst possible outcome for me & how can I seek assistance to resolve the situation? Is there a law preventing mental harassment by a group of people within your immediate surroundings? -

February 4, 2025 at 5:58 amTake a video if possible. Then beat up. Your self defence defense will hold up better. Also, you’re 33F but are you talking about other women or men? If it’s the latter then there probably won’t be any consequences if it’s a matter of your safety. Heck, beat them good if you can.-

February 4, 2025 at 6:02 amMy ‘questionable’ history makes it hard for people to believe me. I can’t keep rushing to the PS every month. Generally, it’s the women & men both. I usually avoid people. I’m gonna start kickboxing soon.-

February 4, 2025 at 6:59 amWhat’s the questionable history? Is it outbursts? Need more context. As long as you don’t go out and murder someone, you should be fine no matter what your history is. Also, kickboxing, muy thai, bbj are all good. Let’s hope we don’t see a day when you have to actually use it for self defence. Also, if not anything else, it might help you get mental stability. You come across as very anxious.-

February 4, 2025 at 7:24 amYes, it’s the anxiety & flashbacks. Got cornered & assaulted by a group of transgenders a few years ago, called 100 because I objected to someone hitting my dog on the street. I don’t remember much but the cop didn’t file an FIR. Brought her home afterwards, wasn’t allowed to keep her home. The family wasn’t very supportive so lost a bit of stability there but it’s pretty okay now. Gonna relocate to avoid the flashbacks because the family was, of course, complicit.-

February 4, 2025 at 7:46 amRelocation is a good idea. Therapy is also a good idea. Maybe do therapy once you’ve relocated. Family is toxic and probably adds to your anxiety. A sport, like the ones we spoke about, is also a good idea. I hope you find peace and once you do, let’s hope you’re not in a position where you need to clobber someone. Best of luck.-

Not a lawyer.
I kickbox for many years now but I wouldn’t risk getting into a fight with a group of people. Unarmed that is. Different game if I have my katana …

February 4, 2025 at 6:21 am1. Self Defence ain’t worth getting into fights with people. 1 knife and you can never predict how it goes.2. Self defence has 2 conditions- access to authorities not available and defence is proportional. If you kill someone if you’re in imminent danger, it’s going to be bad.
3. Random fights like this can escalate. If someone files a case on you for attempt to murder, you’ll require a lot of time, patience and resources to clear your name.
So, much better to avoid people.

February 4, 2025 at 6:39 amI rarely get those sudden bouts of anger but I go to my room and sulk. Ultimately what am I getting by showing anger to those folks? But yeah, that’s not really helpful in most of the cases.-

If you hurt the ego, and if he is relatwd to some gang or group of thugs/politicians with same kind of people. Often they have criminal record.
How bad it can go? Very bad. Look at history.
> I’m scared for my safety

Inform your family, friends, committee of women safety and lawyer. Prevention and Preparation.

February 4, 2025 at 7:34 amYes, thugs. Got harassed for feeding dogs on the street. Got the wrong kind of attention, then of course, family wasn’t very supportive. Friends never got the idea of feeding dogs. I have stopped now. I’m usually told that I’m writing all of this for sympathy/attention but that’s not the case. It’s virtual documentation, leaving it here for similar folks to read & be cautious because this happens too & a reminder for me.And, if it’s women against women, physical harassment & bullying can go either way. Has happened, thanks to another woman.
Avoiding the ruckus by avoiding such spaces.

February 4, 2025 at 7:42 amYou cannot beat them for bullying unless there is a serious threat of physical assault. It would be better to record them instead of being physical-

OP
February 4, 2025 at 7:58 amNo. Just bad experiences & flashbacks. Yes, on anxiety meds. From family, there has been physical violence towards me. Not coworkers. People are professionals, they don’t care about your drama at work.-

February 4, 2025 at 10:36 amThe best solution is never to get into a physical fight. This what even the most trained fighters and army officers say.Due process is one thing but there is always a chance that they may hit you back. And things could get violent. Whatever recourse is available if you get hurt physically it’s not worth it.
Keep a cool head. Beating people without proper cause can even get you in legal trouble.-
