How do people do background check if any police case is pending or not?

Title

This question stems from a post I saw in which the company was able to do background check and got to know police case is pending.

How come a private company came to know about this information? I thought this information was kept for government only.

If someone wants to check if any case is registered then what they need to do?

Fake police cases ruin lives. 50% of the cases police files are fake made up bullshit.

Bro what are you talking about ? Any company can file for police verification for the person they are going to hire, there is simple procedures you just go online on delhi police website & click on police verification option and put all the information that you are a company wanting to hire that person but you wanna make sure is no fugitive so you submit the application then it goes to your nearby police station where a police man check your background and see if is theres any case or not and then they pass on the information to DCP office from where it gets updated online

There are companies who excel in this job. I saw a report a few weeks back where the likes on youtube and facebook were also flagged as controversial and political in the report.

You just have to give your name, aadhaar and pan. You give all that while joining any job. So, you kind of consent to it. And the funny part is they do it for 600-700₹ only

One can easily check criminal cases on NCRC website
Just submit a request with all necessary details.

Who told you this information is for government only?

All the cases, criminal, civil, consumer, taxation etc., are maintained on the court website. All of these can be accessed by general public. Many companies have specialized paid software which extracts information about a person from all these websites at the click of a button and generates a report.

If you want to join any good / big company, it is likely that they will do a background check which includes checking for past criminal records. You can check it on ncrc.gov.in website or your state police department will also be providing such services.

Any case registered against you will create a record which will be available for all to access. Most of the police / court papers are considered to be public documents with few exceptions and can be accessed by any person who knows how to get it.
