January 17, 2025 at 5:16 pmI am from Karnataka and live in an apartment. The apartment has shops in front and some space in front of the shops which is used as common area and has to be left for setback from main road. One of the shop owners has built walls around that space and using it for private purposes.I gave a complaint to the municipal corporation stating following violations:
– construction without municipal corporation permission
– construction on other’s property (i am an undivided share owner of that space)
– violating zonal regulations
– use of space other than what it was approved forIt’s been almost 1 month and no action yet. I’ve heard that ideally they should send a notice in 15 days and demolish after 15 days from notice.
I’ve followed up multiple times and the officer says that he’ll process it. He’s called that shop owner and spoken to him but hasn’t sent any notice yet. Now he’s asked me to wait for another week.
Questions:
1. Are there rules and guidelines that state that action has to be taken within X days?
2. How can I pressurize the officer to take action soon?P.S.: I don’t want to use influence or bribe anyone.
