How societies in residential properties work? How legal they are?

  Hamne ek flat liya tha. Waha pr Ek society hai jisme saare members builder ke relatives hai. Vo kabhi bhi bina flat owners ke saath discuss kiye. Maintainence fee badha dete hai. Agar koi dene se mana krta hai toh paani bijli katne ki dhamki dete hai. Abhi recently parking charges lena shuru kr diya. Logo ne virodh kiya toh society ke whatsApp group se block kr diya. Kisi se baat nhi krte hai. Yeh kitna legal hai?
