March 11, 2025 at 6:17 pmHi all,Iโm a 26M Person with Disability and recently ran away from an abusive home. My father has taken loans amounting to โน40L from various loan sharks, and he has no means to repay them. The constant stress has severely impacted both my parents’ health, and I fear they may pass away soon.
They have no assets to their name, just a 2-storey house in a remote village that is unlikely to attract buyers. I can only afford to cover my own living expenses, and I do not have a high-paying job. Given this situation, I want to ensure that I do not inherit this massive debt.
Is there a legal way to get disowned or take other steps to protect myself from liability for these loans? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance!
