Spouse is currently the nominee but that’s only in case of death.
What about a divorce situation? I don’t want to be out on the streets and start from zero. Nor do I have parents or siblings who I could transfer my investments to and was wondering if it’s best to:
(A) form a trust and have the trust hold the investments?
(B) make myself the beneficiary during my lifetime after which my kid will be the beneficiary till kid attains majority after which the trust dissolves and the corpus vests in kid?
All real estate is currently held in our joint names so can’t do much with that.
