March 3, 2025 at 6:42 pmHey, I need some guidance. I don’t have any family connections in the legal field, nor do I know any lawyers personally. I want to start my practice in court, but I don’t have a senior mentor or any contacts. I’ve cleared the bar exam and everything, but I’m unsure where to begin.Should I directly approach a senior advocate? Should I start taking cases on my own? Sometimes, I feel like I should just spend time in court to observe and understand how things work—which I actually started doing today.
If anyone can guide me or suggest anything that might help in this situation, I’d really appreciate it.

March 7, 2025 at 10:45 amYou can’t start taking your own case as nobody will you their case and you won’t know how to handle it. Start under a senior spend 1-2 years with that senior and then start taking your own case
