January 25, 2025 at 10:59 amI’m a 30-year-old man originally from Southern India, now settled in the UK. During my childhood (ages 10-15), my uncle, who was responsible for caring for me and my sister, sexually abused her and manipulated me, turning me against my own family. Both my sister and I have endured significant trauma as a result of his actions. I’ve also learned from other family members that he abused another cousin. My sister and parents still live in India. Recently, I confronted this uncle via text message, telling him to stay away from our family and calling him out for his behaviour. I warned him that if he continues to involve himself with our family, I will expose him as a child sex abuser.
He is a sociopath with significant financial resources and connections. I’m planning to visit India soon, and I’m concerned that he might try to fabricate false allegations against me to prevent me from returning to the UK. Given that the Indian legal system often favors those with money and influence, I’m worried about how to protect myself if he takes any action. Is there a way I can safeguard myself legally in such a situation?
