January 11, 2025 at 7:14 pmI am planning to permanently leave my parents house after gaining financial independence. The law states that anyone over the age of 18 has freedom to live anywhere according to his/her will. I do too. But considering my mother’s nature who is a narcissist (a wicked one) she will do everything to gain power over my life. There have been instances where in the past she was physically abusing my sister and when I tried to intervene and stopped her using force she threatened to call the police on me. That was more than a year ago. Please advice me on how I can peacefully leave my house without any involvement of the law.

January 11, 2025 at 7:52 pmThere can be no FIR for leaving the house. It’s not an offense. What allegations do you think anyone can put against you?-

January 11, 2025 at 7:53 pmLike I stated in the post she could just say anything that didn’t even happen. Example: assault. She would just want power over me, to control where I am.-

January 11, 2025 at 7:59 pmFIR cannot be registered merely on the basis of assault allegation. There must be some injury. If she fakes it, then you will need to fight the case with help of an advocate. But without sufficient evidence or witnesses it’s not easy to get FIR.-
