March 7, 2025 at 1:13 pmI parked my bike outside my pg at night. Upon waking up I saw my bike missing. There are no cctv camara. No gps is installed in my bike. Im a college student in Punjab. I went to police station in the same day morning. They gave you a blank white sheet and asked me to fill in the details. I wrote the letter stating the bikes models, colour, engine number etc. The office incharge didn’t even look at the letter I gave him. He said keep it
There. Will I get my bike back. What else should I do to make sure .I get my baike as soon as possible. Some suggestes me to get a FIR done. Is it different from the letter I wrote. Or how to get it done. -

March 7, 2025 at 1:32 pmAsk police for copy of FIR, if they don’t respond try talking to senior, if they don’t respond, you will have to approach some officials through social media like ACP, DCP etc, try through twitter. You can approach the judicial magistrate for FIR also if nothing works.
Such stolen things have less chance of findings so once done with FIR, move on and try to buy new one.
FIR is must so that misuse liabilities can be avoided legally. -

March 7, 2025 at 1:49 pmChances are low that you will get your bike back. Did you have insurance? -

March 7, 2025 at 1:49 pmNALProbability of finding the bike by yourself is higher than the police. Sorry but that’s true.
Maybe try looking at the road end cctv cameras or filter out nearby areas cctv cameras.
Hope you find your bike.

March 7, 2025 at 8:10 pmPressure them to file FIR. Police are hesitant to file FIRs because it’s more work for them. Ask them for the copy. If they’re still not doing it, approach any legal aid clinic and ask them to accompany you to file an FIR.
