I am a fresher and got a job in Genpact, i started from Monday and obviously I haven’t recieved any salary from them since it’s just been a week, even my training is yet to begin, though now I have a better offer from Coforge, and the starting is from Monday, what should I do now? Should I just inform my Manager that I won’t be able to make it? Will I face any issue regarding the PF account and stuff like that? I am planning to text the Manager and return their Laptop and ID card, i obvious don’t need any experience or relieving letter since it’s been a week only, please let me know, what can I do to ensure that whole process happens smoothly without any future problems or interruptions.

You must have signed a contract. It would mention something about notice period and perhaps probation period.

See the joining documents, usually notice period applies after sometime. If u r joining new co. on Monday, let gp know ur resignation via email and inform them that you will visit to clear any formalities. If it requires u to pay a month’s salary, do it and don’t burn the bridge. Who knows u meet gp later in career.

If ur PF acc is created already or whatever it will be taken care of in new co. it’s a usual thing for finance/HR/PF.
