KCareerwill is deceiving students by selling pre-recorded classes as live sessions. Is this legally actionable? 🚨
Careerwill, a popular Indian online education platform, has been streaming pre-recorded videos while falsely advertising them as live classes. Students pay extra for live interaction, but the sessions are not actually live.
How I Discovered This Fraud:
On March 13, 2025, during a supposed “live” class by Jaideep Singh, he accidentally mentioned November 8 instead of March 13.
The system date was intentionally hidden during multiple classes in March.
Student comments were ignored for over 10 minutes, proving no real-time interaction.
Careerwill’s Response (or Lack of It):
Ignored my emails since March 19.
Customer support refused to acknowledge the issue and kept redirecting me to different WhatsApp numbers.
A Careerwill staff member, Sapna Chettri, called me, was rude, made excuses, and promised a response (which never came).
After I complained, they edited the March 13 video to remove the proof.
Legal Questions:
1. Is this a violation of consumer protection laws in India?
2. Can I file a complaint under the Consumer Protection Act (2019) for misleading advertisements?
3. Would this count as fraud or misrepresentation under the Indian Penal Code?
4. What legal steps can I take to hold Careerwill accountable?
What I Plan to Do:
✅ File a complaint with the National Consumer Helpline (NCH).
✅ Escalate to regulatory bodies if needed.
✅ Seek legal advice on further action.🚨 Students are paying for a service that doesn’t exist. Careerwill must be held accountable! 🚨
