Indian Passport police verification forcing to bring male only witnesses, anyone facing the same inconvenience?

I’m male. It’s not a big blocker for me. But the thing is that men are usually busy at work (out of station), it creates a kind of inconvenience for them and me as well by asking for these favours.

I searched on the internet and there is no such rule either. I don’t know why the police is doing it. Any suggestion?
