February 27, 2025 at 9:06 pm#Hey Reddit, I need some advice. I’ve been dealing with **IndusInd Bank for over 3 months** regarding an **inward remittance issue**, and it’s been a nightmare.
Here’s what happened:
* My remittance was **returned** because of a **purpose mismatch**—I mentioned “Consultancy Fees,” but the sender’s SWIFT message said “Gift/Donation.”
* A **bank employee lied multiple times** about the process and misled me.
* They **ignored my calls** and kept delaying responses, making it impossible to get a clear answer.
* When I **raised a formal complaint**, they **rejected it with a generic apology** and refused to provide internal communication records.
* They even **put the wrong date** in their response email!I’ve been fighting this for **over 3 months**, and it’s been a frustrating loop of misinformation and delays. **Has anyone dealt with something similar?** Can I take legal action or push the bank for more transparency? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

February 28, 2025 at 4:35 amI do not understand this, why 2 parties statements are involved in this transaction. When I used send money to my brother in USA, I simply added a remark of “Education” and he used to receive the money the next morning without his involvement.
When I received money from EU, he would simply used to do the transaction and share me the receipt and the next morning I would receive the money.
When you are receiving the money, why was your statement recorded?

February 28, 2025 at 5:26 amWhen you receive money from foriegn, you need to mention the purpose to the bank before USD gets converted into INR. Similarly the sender would also have shared the purpose.-

February 28, 2025 at 7:48 amI dealt with atleast 2 banks(IDFC/YES) for receiving business income from the US and both needed confirmation from me. I think bank asks you this only if are receiving in USD(or any foreign currency) and not INR. -
