My father has been falsely implicated in a Corruption case by his colleagues and cbi cases registered against him by cbi. So he will be called to cbi office for interrogation. Is the cbi interrogation torturous? Do they demand bribes? If yes then how much?

No it’s an interrogation so he will most likely be asked to answer questions. The best is to get a lawyer as soon as possible. And don’t go doing something stupid like offering bribes, and they are mostly likely not going to demand any bribes.

Legally they can’t and it’s not a norm but it can happen that’s why I’ll recommend your father to be accompanied by a lawyer as the officers won’t do anything in the presence of a lawyer as an action can be taken against them.

They won’t torture but they might keep him for interrogation for longer hours, threatening him with dire consequences or make him uncomfortable during interrogation etc. but not more than that. They’re usually courteous to government servants, if your father is one.

They definitely won’t demand bribe during the interrogation. These things happen through backchannel, if at all they were to happen.

Make sure that you are accompanied by a lawyer during the CBI interrogation, as you are legally entitled to have your lawyer present during questioning.

Additionally, you should immediately apply for anticipatory bail before the High Court to protect against any potential arrest.
