March 11, 2025 at 3:59 pmOur friend’s girlfriend has filed a rape case against him, and we once went on a trip with both of them where they were normal with each other.Me and my group of friends (1 girl and 4 boys) were going on a trip to celebrate a friend’s birthday in our own car. Another friend (A) also decided to join in with his vehicle that had his girlfriend (B), his brother, girlfriend’s female friend and his cousin. It was his girlfriend’s birthday too so we didn’t think much.
Both vehicles took different routes to the destination and left the city at different times. As we reached on different times, we also visited a temple in between separately. Our only meeting point was at the hotel when we took rooms together, although their group lived in separate rooms. Then we went on to explore the city while they were still in their room. We also went out to dinner with them on the same night where we sat on different tables, as we didn’t know them so well. We only knew A.
The next morning, we went out to explore a spot together after which they left, and we explored a bit more and then came back to our city. Throughout this time, A and B behaved normally, and she has not specified this trip for the rape, but has mentioned two completely unrelated dates. We never had an idea about the rape and we did not know anything about her age. As we are all around 20 and above, we thought she must be around the same age. We all were never close to her and had met her for the first time on the trip. But she has stated there was a rape incident before she turned 18. They have been together for 2-3 years. We are not sure if she has filed a true case or not but this is for the court to decide.
Now my question is we also had a female friend on this trip with us who was with us and not in the group of A and B. She is well above 18. She had no problem with any of us, and she is still fine with us. However, we are worried that as the case is filed, the police may call her to the police station for enquiry. We do not want to involve her as she did not know A and B as much. This was her first time meeting B and we only had limited interactions as mentioned above.
B has filed a rape case against him saying that she was raped when she was below 18. However, we met her on her 18th birthday. We are ready to support the proceedings and be fair with whatever we know. Although we are worried about our female friend, as her family may get furious if they get to know about this.
B has not specified this incident, but it may be discussed as the case proceeds. Is there any way we can protect our female friend as in not involve her in all this as she has no idea about anything. She had only met A on 2-3 trips and hanged out generally in a group 2-3 times. The only time she met B was during this trip where we were together for 1-2 hours. She doesn’t even have B’s number or social media. What can we do to protect her in this scenario?
