Is it necessary to notarize a rent agreement?

I created a residential rent agreement (11 months) online, printed it on e-stamp/stamp paper, and got it signed by both parties and witnesses.

My purpose is to use it as present address proof for employment background verification.

Is notarization still necessary, or is a properly executed rent/lease agreement on stamp paper usually enough?

Would appreciate if anyone has gone through a similar verification process and can share their experience.
