April 21, 2025 at 3:02 amAs above:In many countries, you gotta register your marriage with the government, right? So, what happens in a situation like this:
Let’s say there’s a person who was born biologically male but fully identifies as a woman and uses she/her pronouns in their daily life. Now, this person decides to marry a cisgender woman.
Here’s the kicker: **Could they, during the marriage registration, register as the “wife” and their partner as the “husband”?**
I mean, when you think about it, the forms don’t always explicitly say “groom *must* be male” and “bride *must* be female.” Is there any wiggle room based on their gender identity?
And here’s another question:
What if a biologically male person *only* identifies as female (and uses she/her pronouns) with their partner and *specifically for the marriage registration*, and their everyday marriage life, else(work, etc.), they use he/him pronouns?
**In** ***this*** **scenario, could they also register as the “wife” with their female partner as the “husband”?**
It feels like a real intersection of legal processes and personal identity. What are your thoughts on how current laws would likely handle this?
And in the future, if things go south then what happens in such scenarios?
In the court, will the guy be treated as male or female?
Will they be as wife or husband?
(Answer for both scenarios)

April 21, 2025 at 5:31 amMarriage is legally defined as bond between a male and female. Same sex unions are not legalized.-
