March 5, 2025 at 2:58 pmI’ve had an account with them for 10 years. It started as a salary account. I got another job that insisted I open an account with their bank affiliate and I left this as my secondary. It’s had a few transactions over the years for my freelance and such but mostly unused and I wasn’t charged.
Two year ago I opened an FD with them.
Last year, I took a personal loan from them.
Suddenly in December the account was converted back to a salary account and I was being charged for no salary credit.
Then it was changed to a savings account and I’m being charged for AMB.
I get a message the other day saying I can visit my branch/website to convert it into a basic zero balance savings account ๐
I’ve tried reaching them. Even give an RM a earful when he tried to sell me another loan and he just said speak to customer care.
It’s been months of this nonsense and while it’s a small amount of maybe 2k, it’s clearly to jerk me around and unethical.
I’m planning to close the account.
Is it worth it the effort to take them to consumer court?

March 5, 2025 at 5:02 pmWhat’s your grievance here? Literally says here https://www.icicibank.com/blogs/saving-account/salary-account-vs-savings-account that if salary isn’t credited for around 3 months it gets changed to a savings account and mab charges apply.-

March 5, 2025 at 6:20 pmIt was a zero balance savings account to begin with. They suddenly converted it to a salary account then went back to non-zero balance savings account with mab.-
