February 9, 2025 at 2:01 pmHey everyone,I accidentally recharged ₹3599 on my Jio number while I already have an active plan. The new plan hasn’t even started yet, but Jio is refusing to refund my money. As a student, this amount was meant for my rent, and losing it is a huge financial burden.
I’ve tried contacting JioCare on Twitter and emailed them from my registered email, but they keep saying recharges are non-refundable. There seems to be no proper process for accidental recharges, which feels unfair.
Has anyone faced a similar issue? Is there any way to escalate this and get my refund? Should I file a complaint with TRAI or consumer court? Any advice would be really helpful!

February 9, 2025 at 2:15 pmI was trying to do a data add-on, and honestly, I have no idea how this happened. I didn’t enable the autopay option, and this was an honest mistake while selecting the recharge.

February 9, 2025 at 4:09 pmHappened to me…there is no provision for refund…you are bound to use that…on the positive side, your tariff will not increase for two years. -

February 9, 2025 at 5:43 pm1. I hope you raised the concern to the Customer care at the earliest possible time.now with the screenshots write to complaint to TRAI and register your complaint to [National Consumer Helpline](https://consumerhelpline.gov.in/public/).
there is no 100% Guarantee of recovery but if you don’t try you surely won’t get the money.

February 10, 2025 at 2:58 amThere is zero way to prove that it is accidental. How can you prove you didn’t recharge on purpose and now want to back off?-

February 10, 2025 at 4:14 amThe fact that my existing plan is still active and the new recharge has not been activated proves that this was an accidental transaction. If I had intended to use the ₹3599 plan, I wouldn’t be asking for a refund,it would have been activated immediately. Additionally, I tried to rectify this mistake instantly by reaching out to Jio, which shows my genuine intent. A customer should have the right to cancel or correct an unused recharge, just like in any other industry where refunds are allowed for unused services.”-

February 10, 2025 at 5:45 amBuddy jio and Airtel allow you to do future purchases which kick in once your current plan expires, and this is used by millions of users to ensure price continuance on a plan. Which is what will happen here. Again you are not in a position to claim that this was a mistake.
