Slabour family that has been illegally living on the roof of our building locks their children and go to work. Everyday. Heat, rain or winters.
The builder of the apartment building we live in Old Rajinder Nagar allegedly gave the rooftop to one of the labourers that built the building. Him, his wife, his family with kids are living there for years.
My dad didnt want any confrontation so we didnt.
But over the years we have been facing a lot of problems and this locking their kids is a major safety hazard which is the last straw.
1. They have been stealing electricity of one of the floors.
2. They suck out water from the tanks of every floor, emptying the tanks and leaving us without water. Specially during summers when the water supply is low.
3. THEY LOCK THEIR KIDS AND LEAVE FOR WORK. WTF
What can I do to deal with this situation?
The owner of the floor with roof is not reachable. The caretaker doesnt respond. UPSC Kids living on the top floor have to bear the electricity bill every month.

JTell them ur opinions directly, and threaten to file a police complaint if they do it again
Atleast a complaint abt locking the child

SWe had a fight last year also. They fight back saying “humara saaman hai upar to lock karna padta hai”
Talking to them has been useless thats why im looking for a legal route

JTell them “andar se lock karo”
Or put a dual lock… Tell them: Cause what if there is an emergency and ur kids die inside…
U can move on frm it, i can’t… So bfr it happens i will call the child helpline on you

SNahi karte. They are just hoarding the place and do not care about anything including their kids. Dual lock to door ki baat hai

JThen pay a constable some amt and tell him to give them a verbal warning
If they still continue…. Record the video… Call 1098 (child helpline) and particularly call them when they r not there
And tell them abt their negligence

SDone with warnings honestly. Past 6 years these guys have been a pain in the ass. For some time they will listen and then go back to their old habits. Toxic ex behaviour

But they will surely ensure the children r safe, and they do surprise checks in a month or 2-
SYeah, we are going to sit down with the broker of the floor on top. Will have to show them the video and have them deal with it since they created this problem.

HIf its an apartment, you should have a Maintenance incharge/association/secretary- arrange a meeting and get it sorted
Else stop paying maintenance amount till your issue is resolved
