January 30, 2025 at 7:40 amMy father purchased a land in Karnataka that was 40 cents in size in 1980 and this land was paid for and registered immediately. In 1981 he purchased the neighboring portion of 50 cents from the same person and paid the full amount but never registered that portion. There is a hand written sales deed on stamp/bond paper for the second portion but it was never registered. The boundary wall for the lands were also never put up. My father has since passed away and the original and owner and two of his three children have also passed away.I want to now put a boundary around the entire property and register the second portion in my name or another family member or my dads name. The first plot is still in my fathers name and has not been transferred to his heirs.
A friend told me that I have to first put a boundary wall with a name board etc and then post some kind of notification in the newspaper.
What is the procedure for me to get this done? To put the boundary wall, does a surveyer need to be present?
Thank you in advance.

January 30, 2025 at 7:49 amI suggest you go to the local sub-registrar’s office and go and meet the registry officers. They will guide you on what steps to taken. Alternately, look up a local lawyer and pay him his fees and put him on the job. I assume your mom is alive and if you have any siblings, then in the absence of a will written by your father, you will have to apply for succession certificate from local court
