SI had rented a house for ₹5500 per month and had deposited ₹50000 security deposit.
Since the rent and deposit was small value we never had a written agreement, all we had was oral agreement and I made all payments online.
I even paid for gas and electricity online.Now that I vacated the house after a year, I got the house repainted for ₹20000 for which the owner has paid.
After getting the paint job done, I handed over the keys to the owner. And the owner told me he will return the advance(remaining ₹30000) in a couple of days.
It has been weeks and the owner is not returning money and is giving excuses now, sometimes he doesn’t answer my calls.
What action can I take here?

Go to that house and trouble his new tenants everyday, his tenants will complain to him, he will get frustrated if his tenant says they would shift. Frustrating him is the the only solution I see. Legally nothing will happen, even if you had an agreement legal pursuit would not be worth it.
