April 9, 2025 at 7:02 amHi all,
Iβm building something that blends **impact, innovation, and inclusion** β and I need clarity on the **legal structure** before moving forward. The vision is deep and layered, so Iβm trying to understand how I can set things up **without creating unnecessary compliance chaos** later.Hereβs what Iβm exploring:
1. **NGO (non-profit arm)** β for grassroots education, awareness, outreach, and community development.
2. **MSME** β for skill-based vocational training or manufacturing low-cost tools that aid the mission.
3. **Private Limited Company** β for building and scaling technology, AI, robotics, and tools aligned with our core purpose.Iβm seeking help on a few things:
* β Can all three entities be created under one founder or parent group?
* β Are there any legal blockers in managing or funding them together?
* β Can they **collaborate across functions** (e.g., NGO conducts pilot, Pvt. Ltd. builds tech)?
* β What kind of documentation, registrations, and compliance setups are needed for each?
* β Any best practices to **keep them legally firewalled but value-aligned**?This is still early-stage, so any clarity will help me build right from day one β without risking overlaps, fund issues, or legal bottlenecks.
Would really appreciate advice from anyone whoβs navigated this terrain, or legal experts in the social enterprise + startup space. π
Thanks in advance!
